English Proficiency Assessment

According to PPGTO Internal Regulation, one of the requirements for the completion of the Master's and Doctorate courses is to be approved in English language proficiency test.

To the Master’s Degree, this test is part of the program admission process for regular students. The English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Assessment is related to written comprehension of academic texts in English and other specifications are published annually in the admission process public announcement.

To the PPGTO Doctorate Course, the English assessment is not a requirement at the moment of the admission process, but the doctorate student needs to be approved in English Proficiency Assessment as a requirement for the Qualification Examination of the Dissertation.
The Doctorate students who have completed the Master's Program at PPGTO, or who proved that they have already taken the English Proficiency Assessment, will be dismissed from taking the test again, according to the standards presented in the public announcement at the time of their enrollment in the Program. The other students must take the English Language Proficiency Assessment with the Master's candidates, offered annually.

Currently, candidates can be dismissed from the English Language Proficiency Assessment if they prove their proficiency with a recent score (up to two and a half year-validity), as indicated below:
